Variations & Hints
Summary and Notes:
This is an absolute favourite with my kindergarten and lower primary classes. It is simple to learn and will easily keep them entertained for a minimum of 10 minutes. The game works well as a transition activity or positioned towards the end of a lesson.
I use it as a fun way to establish the idea of beat in the early years. I also use this classroom game as a way to then introduce tempo. There are many other variations of this style of game so once students understand the basic principles they will quickly pick up other activities like it.
